About the Opportunity: We are currently seeking an Engineering Intern (1st Shift) at our Stuart, FL facility. If the initial summer assignment is successful, this position may extend into an opportunity for remote work while you continue school, then offer further on-site assignments during future fall/spring/summer school breaks. Your responsibilities & activities will include: Work under the direction of a Senior Engineer to assist and perform basic manufacturing duties including CAD, routings, manufacturing process sheets, drawing and specification revision changes, Met Lab, excel spread sheets and special projects. As a Co-Op student engineer, you will learn the basic technical and interpersonal skills as a foundation for your engineering career. Planned Projects: Perform daily workstation observations on a critical NPI (New Production Introduction) flowing through our facility. Upon completion of each observation, update the respective operation's work instructions. Aid in needed tool designs and requisitions to outfit each work station with required tools to complete assigned operations. Value Addition: This assignment will document critical aspects of each operation ensuring future repeatability and product conformity. Further, labor efficiency and productivity improvements will be generated as a result of providing needed tooling at the work station. Support Structure: This role will report directly to a Technical Leader, who is an experienced engineering manager within our organization. This position will be further mentored by other Manufacturing and Quality Engineers and work alongside Production Planners, Production Supervisors, Machinists, CNC Programmers, Metal Fabricators, and Inspectors.
