Job Summary:
This position works for the Department of Psychology in the College of Letters & Science, under the direction of the IT Director for the department. This position will serve as one of the primary points of contact for the technology and facilities support help desk. Position responsibilities include setup and upgrading computers, troubleshooting hardware and software issues for Window and MacOS computers, and providing advice to faculty, instructional staff, students and research staff to help determine appropriate use of technology for instructional, research and administrative purposes. The position will also assist with maintenance and upgrade of technology infrastructure such as servers. Furthermore, they will perform routine and non-routine troubleshooting for computer problems and consult with customers to understand their business problem and determine the best way to meet their information needs. The position may help identify items that need to be purchased for the department and research labs. Responsibilities: Provides multidisciplinary information technology (IT) services to support routine to moderately complex IT functionality according to work unit or program's business goals and objectives.

At peak times, such as the start of the academic year, business needs may require additional hours per work week. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act provision for overtime. If overtime hours are assigned, the worker will be paid at a premium rate or shall be credited with compensatory time off at a rate of 1.5 hours per hour worked, for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a work week.
