A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is strongly preferred. This role is based in our office in Monrovia, California.

The Staff Accountant - WCD is responsible for:

• Reviewing and preparing fixed asset additions, expense accounts, and depreciation analysis for Trader Joe's affiliated companies.
• Reviewing invoices to ensure properly coded to fixed assets or expense from both a GAAP and Company policy perspective prior to general ledger posting.
• Preparing general ledger entries for month-end closing for warehouse, logistics and manufacturing services including booking accruals for payroll, benefits, unclaimed services, and other services.
• Providing detailed trending analysis on fluctuations from the month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year comparisons for GL expense accounts.
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations for vendor receivables for logistics claims, cash, prepaid and accrual accounts relating to expenses noted above.
• Streamlining processes and identifying efficiency opportunities where available and making recommendations.
• Assisting with year-end audit request.
• Working collaboratively with other departments.

• 0-3 years of relevant accounting experience ideally in retail or multi-unit.
• A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited University preferably in Accounting or Business Administration.
• Experience using enterprise Accounting software, SAP preferred.
• Experience with Fixed Asset Accounting a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and is resourceful.
• The ability to dig into the details, research and reconcile accounts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
