Summary
Specializes in the diagnosis and study of diseases by examining tissues, cells, and bodily fluids. Responsible for identifying abnormalities that aid in diagnosing diseases and managing treatment. This role operates independently under both direct and indirect supervision, performing technical and clerical tasks essential for the efficient functioning of the laboratory and morgue. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions Examines tissues, cells, and bodily fluids to diagnose diseases and conditions. Consults with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss diagnoses and treatment options. Provides expert advice and consultation to healthcare professionals and patients regarding test results and treatment options. Assists with lab maintenance, including cleaning, restocking, and specimen discarding. Performs autopsy service duties, including ensuring all procedures are followed in the autopsy suite and morgue, identifying patients, and assisting with external exams. Accurately triages and accessions all specimens. Education Physical Requirements
