Position Overview

C&S is seeking a Site Representative/Construction Inspector for the Replace Pavers and Site Work at Binghamton University. The project is anticipated to continue in April of 2025 with completion anticipated in the fall of 2025.

As a Site Representative you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the quality and integrity of construction projects. Your responsibilities will include observing construction activities, conducting inspections, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure projects are completed successfully. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering or construction inspection and a keen eye for detail. Sole proprietorship/independent contractors will be considered and are encouraged to apply.

Position Responsibilities



  • Construction Oversight: Conduct on-site inspections to ensure construction activities align with project plans, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control measures to guarantee that construction work meets engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance: Ensure all construction activities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as permitting requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of inspections, deviations, and corrective actions taken during construction, providing comprehensive daily reports to project stakeholders.
  • Communication: Collaborate effectively with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address construction-related issues and ensure project success.
  • Safety: Enforce safety protocols to create a secure working environment, identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve construction issues promptly, coordinating with the project team to implement effective solutions.


Skills/Education/Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; or 4 additional years of relevant experience in addition to required years of experience listed below
  • Thorough knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
  • Familiarity with construction regulations, codes, and permitting processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in construction inspection tools and technology.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., NICET, ACI) are a plus.
  • Experience working in a college campus setting


Estimated Compensation Range: $35.00-$45.00/hour

*Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
