Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, a designated Level 3 Medical Home, is the largest federally qualified health center network in New York State, and the second largest in the nation. It includes eight primary care sites, 40 school-based health centers and dental clinics, four day care centers, the nation's largest dental residency program, and New York State's largest behavioral health program. The network also includes 12 community medicine sites providing care to disenfranchised New Yorkers, comprehensive HIV services, chemical dependency programs, and a family support center that offers educational, vocational, and other social support programs. Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Director B, CSA.

In this role, the successful candidate The Education Director of an early childhood center is responsible for overall administration and supervision of the day care services to families and children within the framework of Sunset Park Health Council, Inc., DOE, DOHMH, CACFP, Quality Stars of NY and NAEYC policies and procedures. These responsibilities shall include coordination and supervisor of all program components including implementation of developmentally appropriate practices preventative health and social services compliance with nutritional standards staff development community outreach parent involvement in program operations fiscal management and accountability and facilities management. In order to effectively carry out these overall responsibilities the Director shall consider confer and consult with other supervisory staff members of the center as well as the Directors of Early Childhood Services and Community Based programs in arriving at decisions affecting areas in which these persons may be specialists.

Job Responsibilities:

Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to ensure practice based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and age-related criteria.

In collaboration with Center leadership, develop and implement an annual professional development plan to assist with setting professional goals, curriculum development, classroom environment, individual issues with children, and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum.

Recruit, hire and provide supervision and staff development to team of education directors and coordinators.

Research, prepare, and submit grants to appropriate institutions to secure funding for program enhancement.

In collaboration with the Data and Evaluation team, develop a system of program assessment and outcome/impact framework to monitor centers for compliance with program and fiscal guidelines.

Participate in Professional and Advocacy groups regarding Early Childhood Education and social issues affecting the population we serve.

Develop partnerships with other organizations to improve services, enhance programming and promote understanding of our mission.

Develop new program areas in response to community need.

Monitor centers for compliance with program guidelines and regulatory agencies (DOH, ACS, DYCD, SED, NAEYC and Quality Stars)

Assure development and implementation of innovative early childhood educational programs.

Ensure the implementation of developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum across all programs.

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
Minimum Education: Master Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
Minimum Experience/Requirements: Approximately five years experience in a management, supervisory and leadership position. Demonstrated leadership qualities (mature judgment) and ability to work collaboratively with others. Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships and sound educational program; to be articulate, pleasant and resourceful. Willingness to utilize available training to improve administrative and supervisory skills as well as understanding of fiscal and budgetary management.
Required License, Registration, and Certification: Valid New York State Teachers Certificate (or equivalent certificate form another state, which is recognized by the New York State Department of Education).
Preferred Qualifications: Bi-lingual in one of the dominant languages of the communities we serve.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Masters in Early Childhood Education or related field
AND Professional NYS Teacher Certification (Birth to 2nd Grade)
AND Three years relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual Preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $72,000.00 - $80,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
