Retinal Degeneration
A postdoctoral position is available in Michael Dyer's laboratory in the Department of Developmental Neurobiology to study the role of MERTK in retinal degeneration.

Over the past several years, we developed a comprehensive workflow to study retinal disease that includes in vivo analyses, molecular, cellular and physiologic characterization. We are now focusing on the role of MERTK in RPE and retinal degeneration. We have several mouse models and human stem cell models for these studies. The results of these studies will be important for filling a fundamental gap in our knowledge about the structure and function of MERTK in RPE and retinal degeneration.
