At St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, we strive for continued excellence in all areas including the quality and service. We are looking to hire a part-time dependable, flexible individual to join our team as a Satellite Server who has a strong focus on customer service.
Satellite Server (Part-Time)
Work Schedule:Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 2:45 PM
Job Summary:
We seek an ideal candidate who excels in customer service, demonstrates compassion for patients and their families, and thrives in a team-oriented environment.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Retrieve all necessary food and utensils for satellite and cafeteria next-day service. Set up the assigned area for service.
  • Serve in the Satellite Services area, ensuring courteous and prompt customer service followingdepartment policies. Utilize portion control and maintain an attractive, orderly serving line.
  • Maintain and safely operate food service equipment according to department policies, including disassembly, reassembly, and cleaning as required.
  • Handle and store food safely, ensuring proper temperatures and sanitary conditions. Maintain personal hygiene bydepartment policies and dress code.
  • Operate the cash register, verifying starting cash amounts, processing transactions accurately, maintaining register security, and reporting errors to the supervisor.
  • Provide friendly and efficient service, ensuring registers are staffed at all times during operating hours and completing transactions within one minute.
  • Maintain accurate cash handling, charge slips, meal tickets, and other financial transactions, ensuring compliance with department policies.
  • Prepare the satellite service area for daily operations, including making coffee, tea, and juice, setting up necessary items, and preparing menu boards and point-of-sale signs.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the work and cafeteria areas, including rotating stock, cleaning surfacesand equipment, and promptly addressing spills or safety hazards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the department's goals and objectives.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Minimum Education & Training:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred Experience:
  • One (1) year of experience in food preparation, cooking, and/or cashier operations is preferred.
Licensure, Registration, and Certification (Required by St. Jude Only):
  • ServSafe Food Handler Training Certificate Programor another ANSI-accredited Food Handler Training Certificate Programmust be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $20.00 - $29.00 per hour for the role of Satellite Server (Part-Time).
