We're Excited About You Because You Have...

  • 4+ years of professional experience in software development

  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality software systems

  • Deep expertise in 1 or more programming languages and frameworks (Preferably Java, Kotlin, Javascript/Typescript, React, Node,)

  • Strong architectural understanding of systems

  • Experience building both visually-rich frontend presentations and backend APIs

  • Experience with Unit, Regression, and Integration testing

  • Experience with version control using Git

  • A leadership mindset, with the ability to influence technical decisions and mentor others

  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves:

  • Advanced knowledge of testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and performance monitoring

  • Exposure to analyzing and improving efficiency, scalability, and stability of various systems

  • Experience working with databases (e.g. SQL, Postgres, Mongo)

  • Experience building cloud-native applications in AWS or other cloud providers

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$102,060.00

Pay Range - End:

$189,540.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Please note that the salary range listed in the posting is the standard pay structure. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
