Job Title Maintenance Planner Scheduler

Job Summary: The Maintenance Planner Scheduler develops work plans for maintenance jobs, repairs, preventative maintenance schedules and installation of new equipment, with necessary information to allow efficient scheduling, assignment and execution of maintenance work to ensure equipment operates correctly and efficiently according to production requirements. The Maintenance Planner is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters. Maintenance Planners are required to interact and communicate regularly with Operations and Maintenance teams. Not only is the Maintenance Planner's role to interact with these groups, he serves as an integral member of the relationship between the groups by acting as a liaison between them.

Compensation Details: Salary range is between $68,463 and $96,573 per year depending on years of experience.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Prepare and develop weekly work schedules for routine and corrective/breakdown maintenance activities for all non-emergency maintenance work.
  • Attend and lead scheduling meetings
  • Analyze work stoppages to identify and correct the underlying cause of recurring problems. Generate maintenance performance metrics as assigned.
  • Organize and maintain equipment history files, equipment information and vendor literature to assist with planning activities in plant files both electronically and on paper. Maintain complete and accurate records within the CMMS.
  • Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to enhance the PM program and coordinate maintenance and repair of plant equipment which impacts both production and quality.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities between internal departments, outside contractors, and among various work groups to ensure that jobs are planned and scheduled in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Is responsible for both long-range and short-range planning
  • Coordinate equipment downtime.
  • Partner with all departments of the organization.
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:



  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience is preferred.
  • Associate's Degree in a related field or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must have knowledge on how to build a maintenance bucket schedule.
  • Must have L2L or other SAP knowledge.
  • Must understand preventative maintenance and have the ability to build and manage PM schedules.
  • Able to train mechanics on work orders and PM schedules.
  • Must have inventory knowledge.
  • Must be high level user of spreadsheet platforms such as Excel or Sheets.
  • Knowledge of CMMS or other maintenance planning platforms.
  • Knowledge of UltiPro or other timekeeping systems is a benefit.
  • Baseline knowledge of reliability maintenance is needed.
  • Must be able to problem solve.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Candidates must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug and background screen.
