Application Engineer works with customers to develop solutions using the portfolio of Saint-Gobain's bonding, sealing and protection materials. The position collaborates closely with the commercial, manufacturing and research and development teams to determine if an existing solution will be appropriate or to develop a product or process tailored to enable our customers to attain their vision. Application Engineer works to understand needs and benefits to propose, develop and implement responsible, application specific testing, validate products against certification requirements, as well as train on how a solution will be implemented. As part of this function they review customer or industry specifications and communicate the compliance or and exceptions needed for a particular solution. Travel within North America to work with our partners, or potential partners, gives the Application Engineer experience and the ability to gain first-hand knowledge of the challenges to be addressed. Markets served include many emerging technologies and diverse applications in construction, automotive, industrial, transportation, medical and renewable energy. Essential Functions: Customer Support- Communicate product solution features and benefits to customers and Saint-Gobain sales personnel. Respond to customer application requests, including on site collaboration to develop solutions; provide engineering support to customer care personnel, including customer specification review, and product selection. Collect, analyze, consolidate and publish product data. Communicate on progress of support requests. Develop and deliver presentations and evaluations on application solutions according to customer needs. Continuous Improvement- Recommend and lead efforts to improve products and/or services. Identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions with cross functional teams. Leadership on projects that enhance value to our customers, both internal and external. Develop and maintain internal and external networks of subject matter experts. Attend trade shows, industry seminars, and technical training. Growth/Innovation- Gain a deep understanding of targeted applications, including market needs, relevant specifications, competitive products, and benchmarking. Lead product customization and qualification efforts, tailoring solutions to customers and markets, consistent with the strategic direction of product management. Is this job for you ? REQUIRED: BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Engineering & Management) or similar field Fluent in English PREFERRED: Work or projects that display innovative thinking or stakeholder consideration beyond stated goals. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $70,000 to $108,000 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 9% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $72,900 to $112,800. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
