Responsibilities The HSE Site Lead will partner with the HSE Manager in the design, implementation, and management of the Terex TSNA Health, Safety, and Management System and any other HSE programs modified to the special needs of the individual operation. The HSE Site Lead ensures safe work conditions and practices that meet all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies. The HSE Site Lead also assists with coaching site management and personnel on the recognition, elimination and control of occupational hazards and environmental risks. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Analyzes and evaluates current health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and practices to ensure they meet all local, states, and national regulatory requirements.
- Implements and maintains all health, safety, and environmental maintenance programs and policies to minimize and eliminate safety risks and occupational hazards associated with work practices.
- Maintains safety monitoring and occupational health monitoring programs to ensure all activities meet established requirements. Establishes methods for maintaining site records for occupational and environmental health and safety including documentation on training and certifications.
- Performs periodic safety inspections and compliance audits.
- Partners with the Senior HSE Manager to establish standards and methods of measuring environmental, health, and safety performance.
- Assesses training needs related to safety and occupational health and ensures all employees receive the necessary training to perform work in a safe and legal manner. Coordinates and/or administers training. Ensures that all team members are aware of their environmental, health, and safety responsibilities.
- Prepares reports including observations, analysis of containments, and recommendations for correction. Establishes and maintains effective accident and incident reporting system for all employees.
- Coordinates IH Sampling as required.
- Investigates the adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting and other conditions affecting health, comfort, and efficiency of Team Members.
- Conducts evaluations of exposure to noise, particles, gases, fumes etc. and recommends measures to ensure maximum employee protection.
- Investigates accidents and incidents to determine the cause and recommends changes to work practices or equipment to minimize or eliminate future safety risks.
- Works with outside safety organizations to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Serves as the secondary contact responsible for assisting with safety and occupational health audits by these organizations.
- Works with an Occupational Physician or equivalent to establish and implement controls and remedial measures dealing with hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions and equipment.
- Prepares safety and compliance reports as required by management and outside organizations.
- Analyzes and provides technical comments on proposed regulatory actions.
- Provides input on and participates in HSE strategic planning for the site.
- Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position and the TSNA HSE Strategic Plan.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of direct progressively responsible experience with OSHA compliance, behavior-based safety, root cause analysis, incident management, standards and procedural. development, auditing and training in the manufacturing environment , or related field required.
- Demonstrated passion for safety and environmental excellence.
- Experience with environmental permit compliance.
- Strong organizational & planning skills.
- Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with technology such as MS Office Suite products and other standard computer applications.
- Requires excellent oral and written communications skills, diplomacy, and interpersonal skills to communicate to all levels of an organization effectively and comfortably.
- Possess and demonstrate outstanding influencing skills and collaboration.
- Requires strong presentation and training skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an Environmental, Health, Safety, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent discipline desired.
- Experience or education in ergonomics is highly preferred.
- Experience with DOSH, OSHA, ANSI, NEC, NFPA, and General Industry Safety Standard.
- Knowledge of worker's compensation regulations.
- Principles of program management.

Working Conditions
- Requires sufficient ambulatory ability to walk through a manufacturing environment on a frequent basis, with the occasional need to bend and stoop.
- Requires sufficient hand-arm-eye coordination to demonstrate safe work practices and to operate a computer keyboard.
- Requires near visual acuity to observe environmental, health, and safety issues; and to be aware of moving objects.
Requires auditory ability to project voice to a small group in a noisy environment and to carry on conversations.
