  • Develop and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and manufacturers to ensure high-quality sourcing.

  • Optimize component selection for performance, cost-effectiveness, and long-term availability.

Component Qualification & Testing:

  • Ensure components meet industry and regulatory standards (e.g., RoHS, UL, ISO).

  • Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations for non-conforming components.

  • Collaborate with design and testing teams to validate component performance in real-world applications.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date component libraries and part specifications.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.

  • Establish best practices for documenting component selection and qualification processes.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Partner with electrical engineers, product development, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of selected components.

  • Work closely with supply chain teams to identify alternative components and mitigate risks related to obsolescence or shortages.

  • Liaise with external vendors and manufacturers to resolve technical issues and optimize sourcing strategies.

Cost Management & Risk Mitigation:

  • Perform cost-benefit analyses to optimize component selection without compromising quality.

  • Proactively identify alternative components to address potential supply chain disruptions.

  • Manage Product Change Notifications (PCNs) and develop mitigation strategies for component lifecycle risks.

Continuous Improvement & Industry Trends:

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in electronic components.

  • Recommend process improvements to enhance component selection, qualification, and procurement strategies.

What You'll Need:

Basic Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred but not required).

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in component engineering, electronics sourcing, or related roles in a global environment.

  • Hands-on experience with component selection, qualification, and supplier coordination.

  • Familiarity with failure analysis and component lifecycle management.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of electronic components (e.g., resistors, capacitors, semiconductors, connectors) and their applications in circuit design.

  • Experience with component management software, PLM tools, and supplier databases.

  • Working knowledge of industry regulations and certifications (e.g., RoHS, UL, IPC, ISO).

  • Familiarity with testing methods for electronic components (e.g., impedance, signal integrity, RF characterization).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across engineering, supply chain, and external partners.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with embedded systems and associated components.

  • Knowledge of procurement processes, AVL management, and obsolescence forecasting.
