Ophthalmic Assistant

General Summary of Position

Primary Duties:

* Assist ophthalmology physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including scribing and performing various tests like visual field exams, OCT, ocular pressures, and A/B scans.

* Maintain supply inventory, ensure proper handling, cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of instruments.

* Assist with patient assessments, documentation of medical history, and ensure accuracy in pre-procedure records.

* Participate in quality improvement teams, maintain patient records for medications, and support community outreach efforts as needed.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or GED required

* 1+ years of experience working in an ophthalmology or optometry practice is required

* Graduation from an accredited Ophthalmic Technician program is preferred

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
