POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing / Business Excellence leader will be responsible for the implementation of a business lean culture across MRS to simplify and optimize the performance of our business through an effective utilization of our P3 System, coach and mentoring of the leadership staff during daily, weekly and monthly reviews; This position will deploy the utilization of all lean tools by training and development on all functions, regions and plants, implement an effective Problem Solving system to eliminate existing and recurrent problems, increase production efficiency and customer satisfaction through Continuous Improvement, Process Engineering, Quality and EHS functions. The role will be a strong support to the business VP/GM and the CI structure will be a key player to support the regional VP/GMs.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
|
Education
- Bachelors Degree in Operations, Engineering, or Manufacturing.
- Master's Degree preferred in Business, Engineering or another related area.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years running multi-site manufacturing operations (Global experience preferred)
- Proven experience working and managing multicultural environments with successful results.
- Experience on safety systems, environmental regulations, and sustainability requirements.
- Business turnaround experience.
- Expertise in the areas of problem-solving techniques at different levels. Skilled in high complexity problem solving skills preferred.
Skills and competencies
- Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement methods, implementation of production systems and tools.
- Customer management improving score cards.
- Solid budgetary analytical skills. Strong knowledge on Gross Margin / EBITDA / P&L reports / Balance Sheets / RONA
- Ability to effectively influence and impact across work groups and at all levels in the organization. (working in a matrix environment)
- Strong communication skills to drive consensus, decision-making and execution.
- Ability to set a vision and lead a cross-functional team.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
|
Responsibilities:
- Lean Culture:
- Implement a state of the art 5S environment where lean culture can flourish.
- Effective implementation of P3 system: Training, coaching and mentoring, lean certification.
- Effectively utilize the global network of CI from the regional and plant teams to support business functions and plants to simplify, reduce cost and achieve operational excellence.
- Train all salaried employees, Indirect and Direct Labor on their respective lean tools. Develop Lean experts and execute kaizen workshops across the organization.
- Implement across the business an effective problem-solving process with the support from quality to eliminate old and recurrent problems through an effective root cause analysis.
- Track business performance through a connected network of KPIs from shop floor to plant, regional and global functions. Extend the P3 Ecosystem to all levels and functions of the organization.
- Run continuously Kaizen workshops to simplify and improve our processes and business.
- Track and record all business improvements to reduce cost and improve Gross Margin / EBITDA.
- Track the maturity of our employees and lean systems at regional and plant level.
- Manufacturing Engineering Technologies (MET):
- Fast response to operational efficiency losses driven by technical downtime, assembly cycle time and scrap creation to improve OAE performance.
- Develop new assembly and production concepts for new products and introduction of new technologies into our assembly processes.
- Develop a strong technology network from each technology where global standards are created, maintained and audited to support plant performance from plant to plant.
- Manage in the most effective way the resources to invest in our plants, new business and processes.
- Support the management of global platforms through standardization of project management tools to secure robust launches across different regions.
- Global and regional footprint strategies managing core and non core processes to have an effective make vs buy governance and system.
- Quality and EHS:
- Implement a strong network of Safety systems and procedures across our plants, technical centers which will be closely connected to the corporate policies and systems.
- Improve safety performance to bring home our employees every day in the best health conditions.
- Improve customer satisfaction score cards to become the most trusted partner in the industry.
- Optimize Gross Margin by reducing Cost Of Poor Quality (COPQ) by reducing scrap, sorting and warranty cost through an effective problem solving process in our plants shop floor and product engineering.
- Maintain a strong Quality Management System tracking the maturity of our employees and locations.
- Standardize our quality processes in manufacturing, close collaboration with MET and simple solutions across our plants in different regions.
Essential Functions:
- Active Member of the P3 Manufacturing Council.
- Secure operational cost through lean simplification: Global and regional level.
- Certify MRS locations in P3.
- Transform the lean culture existing in our business.
- Clear manufacturing strategy that will be followed at regional and global level with components manufacturing supporting our core business

- All plants exceeding 5S targets for certification
- Certification of Lean Experts in the plants: (3) Experts per plant minimum.
- 80% of our plants certified in P3
- Conversion Cost at "Full potential targets" as agreed with OSE
- Roadmap to execute conversion cost to achieve Tenneco Clean Sheets.
- Customer score cards with no red items / escalations open
- Plants running with OAE processes above 75%
