Job Summary
The Inside Plant manager is tasked with the operation, maintenance, and upgrading of the Headend/Hub Network and the Interconnects within their area of responsibility.
Responsibilities
  • The preparation and monitoring of both capital and operational budgets.
  • Determination of appropriate staffing levels.
  • The development and implementation of effective preventive maintenance programs.
  • The analysis of system problems and outages to improve resolution times and overall reliability.
  • The ability to effectively manage multiple projects by meeting both deadlines and budget goals.
  • Provide appropriate and effective staff training.
  • Maintain appropriate equipment inventory levels.
  • Optimize use of people, processes, and technology in region of responsibility.
  • Implementation and integration of new technologies.
  • Ability to respond 7 / 24 for outages and emergencies.
  • Ensure reliable service by performing continuous network analysis while adapting to new technologies.
  • Assist in the development of technology advances.
  • Represent/back fill for the Director during periods in his/her absence.
  • Ability to motivate and train staff.
  • Completion of assigned projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to operate within budget guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain or improve system reliability.
  • Ability to interact with other support groups to resolve technical issues and to meet new product launches.
  • Participates in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Extensive CATV technical experience with a minimum of 8 years in advanced technical positions.
  • Must be fully capable in headend design, and technical operations.
  • Must have working knowledge of MPEG 2, MPEG 4, analog video, RF distribution networks, fiber optic transmission systems, HSD (DOCSIS and FTTH) and VOIP platform.
  • Minimum of 3 years of ISP supervisor/lead experience.
  • Associates degree or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems/trends review and develop procedures to increase reliability and add to customer satisfaction.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to be on standby shift and 24-hour standby.
  • Skilled in the use of spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Clean and Valid Driver's license with ability to travel to other work locations as necessary.
