Job Summary

The Pantry Attendant is responsible for supporting the Catering Pantry Supervisor in maintaining an organized, clean, and well-stocked pantry. This role assists with inventory management, receiving and storing deliveries, and ensuring all supplies and equipment are readily available for catering events. The Pantry Attendant works closely with the culinary and operations teams to support smooth event execution while adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.

Pantry Organization & Inventory Support:

  • Assist in maintaining an organized and properly stocked catering pantry.
  • Restock supplies and equipment as needed to ensure availability for upcoming events.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify the Pantry Supervisor of low-stock items.
  • Follow proper storage procedures, ensuring items are labeled and rotated correctly.

Receiving & Storing Deliveries:

  • Assist in receiving and inspecting deliveries for accuracy and quality.
  • Store perishable and non-perishable items following food safety guidelines.
  • Dispose of expired or damaged products in compliance with company policies.

Event Preparation & Support:

  • Assist in gathering and organizing necessary supplies for catering events.
  • Ensure all equipment and products are clean and ready for use.
  • Support the catering team in setting up and breaking down event stations when needed.

Cleaning & Maintenance:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas, refrigerators, and workspaces.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines in all pantry-related tasks.
  • Assist in routine maintenance and cleaning of catering equipment.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Pantry Supervisor and catering team to ensure efficient operations.
  • Communicate any issues related to inventory, equipment, or cleanliness.
  • Follow instructions from the Pantry Supervisor to complete daily tasks effectively.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience in catering, food service, or inventory management preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift and transport catering supplies and equipment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Team player with good communication skills.

Work Environment:

  • Requires standing for extended periods and lifting heavy items.
  • Work in kitchen and storage areas with exposure to varying temperatures.
  • May involve early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules
