We are actively looking for a Electrical Engineer to join our Baltimore office. As part of the Electrical Group, the Electrical Engineer prepares plans, designs and plan production for general electrical engineering on a wide variety of projects which may include lighting, power, and grounding plans, one-line diagrams, panel and cable schedules, and different project specifications.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Completes electrical designs to support firm-wide projects by working with Project Managers (any discipline) and electrical teammates
  • Provides design calculations, design drawings, and project specifications for the following but not limited to:
    • Medium/low voltage power distribution systems
    • Lighting systems
    • Lightning protection systems
    • Grounding systems
    • Communications systems
    • Control Systems
    • Electrical equipment design (including switchboards and switchgear)
    • Electrical calculations, selective coordination and arc flash studies
  • Prepares detailed contract documents, studies and cost estimates
  • Perform construction management activities such as submittal reviews and construction observations for electrical work on projects
  • Assist in companywide Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Master's Degree preferred
  • Electrical license
  • 4+ years of related experience in:
    • Medium/low voltage power distribution systems
    • Grounding systems
    • Lighting systems
    • Communications systems
    • Electrical equipment design (including switchboards and switchgear)
    • Selective coordination and arc flash studies
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit is required
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
  • Moffatt & Nichol uses E-Verify and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and to present the required documentation at hire

Working conditions:

Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
