Job Summary

The Lead Building Engineer is responsible for ongoing maintenance and operation of the complex mechanical and electrical systems in multi-state facilities. The Lead Building Engineer plays a key role in contributing to a safe and comfortable work environment for employees. This role is 5 days a week onsite with an evening shift 3 - 11 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance, installation, and repairs for building systems, ensuring adherence to company and industry building standards
  • Services and maintains all Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) equipment and boilers as required
  • Maintains and updates Building Management Systems
  • Oversees building/fire safety and responds to situations as required, including verification of compliance to building codes; maintains, tests, and repairs atrium smoke purge system
  • Periodically starts and tests emergency generators and battery sets
  • Oversees contractors performing equipment installations and repairs, providing direct assistance as needed
  • Maintains parts inventory to support building and equipment, working with appropriate parties to order new supplies as needed
  • Provides technical support to Project Managers and Facilities Managers and general support to contractors as needed
  • Researches and implements energy savings programs
  • Responsible for capital project feasibility to determine costs and schedule
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required
  • Must be able to work 3 - 11 pm shifts
  • Significant experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing diversified commercial HVAC systems
  • HVAC Certification preferred
  • Experience with Building Management Systems required, with specific knowledge of Johnson Controls (JCI) preferred
  • Experience with Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) systems preferred
  • General proficiency in Office 365/Google Docs, including Excel
  • Clean and valid Driver's License

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $74,018.00-$121,601.00/year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
