Job Summary:

The Department of Operations and Information Management (OIM) in the Wisconsin School of Business invites applications for a non-tenure track lecturer position to start in August 2025 and to teach the equivalent of 18 credits in operations management, product management, service operations, business process improvement, supply chain management, and/or related topics.

The Wisconsin School of Business offers a collegial working environment and excellent campus resources. The OIM Department comprises a vibrant faculty with broad research and teaching interests. We seek outstanding candidates who would complement these interests with high-quality teaching in student-centered and collaborative learning environments. We offer three undergraduate majors (in Operations and Technology Management, in Supply Chain Management, and in Information Systems), and we have a strong presence in both MS in Business Analytics program as well as the MBA program. We are also closely affiliated with the Erdman Center for Technology Strategy and Product Management and the Grainger Center for Supply Chain Management, both of which are founded on the principles of cross-functional perspectives and industry engagement.


Responsibilities:
Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.

  • 50% Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
  • 25% Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • 25% Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations

Education:

Required
Master's degree or higher in business or related field

Preferred:
- PhD (granted or near completion) in Operations Management or related field


Qualifications:

Preferred:
- Industry experience in operations management, product management, service operations, business process improvement, supply chain management, and/or related topics
- Strong commitment to teaching excellence at undergraduate and master's levels
- A record of high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment
- An enthusiasm for collaborative learning environments
- An interest in educational technologies and innovation


Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 10% - 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.


Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 9 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding


Salary:

Minimum $100,000 ACADEMIC (9 months)

This position can be extended in subsequent semesters to teach one or more of course(s) listed on this PVL, or similar courses within the department. The FTE for this position has the potential to fluctuate depending on the number of classes taught. This position may become renewable if there is a need for an ongoing appointment.
