Maintenance Scheduler

Position Description

  • Responsible for scheduling all work orders using a computerized maintenance system (MAXIMO) to accomplish all maintenance related activities in electrical generating stations. Responsible for prioritizing the needs of all departments while ensuring Maintenance resources are streamlined as efficiently as possible. Responsible for building multi-week Maintenance schedules, and publishing weekly schedules for distribution.


  • Essential Job Tasks:
  • Schedules all preventative maintenance work for responsible crews, works with the team to maintain a prioritized backlog for building crew schedules, works with team to develop T1, T2, T3 and T4 schedules for non-outage work scopes, publishes T1 schedules, updates weekly schedules, and reviews and updates PM frequencies and ensures schedule accuracy.
  • Schedules all preventative maintenance work requests for Unit outages, works with team to develop preventative maintenance planned outage schedules, publishes daily outage activities, reviews and updates frequencies of outage PM's, and works with the team to develop all encompassing outage schedules.
  • Supports Maintenance Planners with ordering of non-stock materials, tracks procurement status of non-stock materials, provides delivery updates to the team as needed, and works with the Maintenance Planners to validate material prior to scheduling work.
  • Supports and develops detailed MAXIMO job plans for both non-outage and outage corrective, condition directed, and preventative work scopes for the Maintenance crews. Develops preventative maintenance plans to reduce repetitive condition directed work, and supports determining the optimal frequencies for preventative maintenance work based on reliability and optimal use of resources.
  • Performs assessments of critical inventory to determine optimal levels based on lead times, tracks repairable items and provide delivery updates to the maintenance team for work that is awaiting material, and performs obsolete inventory reviews.
  • Works with the team to ensure PM's are in place to ensure reliability of critical assets, ensures PM scheduling is optimized to balance cost and reliability, and review/update spare part lists for non-critical assets.
  • Works with the team to find innovative ways to ensure safety, compliance, and reliability while optimizing costs.
  • Completes all safety and OSHA training on time and complies with all corporate safety requirements.


  • Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate's degree + 8 years experience or High School Diploma/GED + 10 years experience required.
  • Requires experience in the operation and repair of various power station equipment and administrative procedures.


  • Compensation Information:
    $82,520 - $103,140 (min. - mid.)
