As Scale continues to grow as the top provider of data products and services to Generative AI companies across the globe, our Customer Operations team is evolving to ensure we meet the complex compliance needs of our customers. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Customer Compliance Manager to play a crucial role in ensuring our GenAI offerings meet all contractual and regulatory requirements. This role will involve collaborating with internal teams (Legal, Accounting, Central Ops, Delivery Ops, Engagement Management, and GTM) and directly interacting with our strategic customers.

The ideal candidate possesses a comprehensive understanding of B2B services (even better, AI data services) contract compliance principles, the ability to navigate complex contractual & operations landscapes, and a proven track record of building processes and project managing substantial operational changes. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to shape Scale's operational compliance framework within the rapidly evolving Generative AI landscape.

You will:



  • Review contracts & define compliance requirements: Thoroughly review new and existing customer contracts to identify and track key operational compliance requirements. Clearly define specific obligations and performance standards arising from contracts.
  • Map compliance activities: Document existing processes and identify gaps in compliance across all GenAI accounts and active contracts.
  • Develop compliance solutions: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement solutions to meet and exceed contractual compliance standards.
  • Assign ownership: Designate responsibility for each compliance requirement to the appropriate stakeholder.
  • Track compliance: Establish a system to monitor ongoing compliance and report on key metrics to the associate customer account team, legal team, and other relevant parties.
  • Support external audits: Partner with internal teams to ensure successful completion of customer-driven contractual compliance audits.


Ideally you'd have:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Law, or a technical field with a compliance focus).
  • 4+ years of experience in a compliance, auditing, or related role, preferably in a B2B environment.
  • Experience in the technology industry, particularly with AI or SaaS products.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, working within cross-functional environments.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to flawless execution.


Nice to haves:



  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Experience with compliance management software.
  • Proficiency in SQL + advanced skills in Sheets and/or Excel.

Compensation packages at Scale for eligible roles include base salary, equity, and benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position, determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, interview performance, and relevant education or training. Scale employees in eligible roles are also granted equity based compensation, subject to Board of Director approval.
