Christman Facility Solutions is looking for a DataCom Project Manager with a healthcare and data center focus in our Dallas, Texas region. This position will lead and manage complex data infrastructure installation projects within the General Construction, healthcare, data center market sectors. This role is critical in ensuring the successful delivery of projects, adhering to strict timelines, budgets, and quality standards while maintaining exceptional client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in estimating and managing large-scale construction projects and a high volume of service requests, with a proven track record of success in data infrastructure or related technical installations and strong client relationships in the North TX marketplace. A certified RCDD designer would be preferable.

What You Will Do:

As the DataCom Project Manager, your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

Project Leadership & Management:



  • Lead and manage all phases of data installation projects, from pre-construction planning and estimating to final commissioning and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Effectively manage project teams, including subcontractors, vendors, and internal resources.
  • Ensure adherence to all project specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements, particularly within the healthcare and data center environments.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing effective problem-solving strategies.
  • Manage change orders, RFIs, and submittals, ensuring accurate documentation and timely responses.
  • Conduct regular project meetings, providing clear and concise communication to all stakeholders.


Estimating & Pre-Construction:



  • Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for data installation projects, considering materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and technical documents to identify potential challenges and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the pre-construction team to develop project proposals and presentations.
  • Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews to optimize project costs and schedules.


Client Relationship Management:



  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Proactively address client concerns and provide timely updates on project progress.
  • Understand the unique requirements of healthcare and data center clients, including security, redundancy, and operational continuity.


Safety & Compliance:



  • Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all company and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections and enforce safety protocols.
  • Ensure all project documentation and records are maintained in accordance with company policies and industry best practices.


Financial Management:



  • Monitor project budgets and expenses, ensuring accurate cost tracking and reporting.
  • Manage project invoicing and payment processes, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
  • Forecast project costs and revenue, identifying potential variances and implementing corrective actions.


What You Will Bring to the Team:

Required experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:



  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, a related field preferred, or multiple years of proven successful service.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in project management within the construction industry, with a focus on data infrastructure or related technical installations.


Preferred experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:



  • Experience working with Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Experience working in occupied healthcare or data center facilities.
  • OSHA certifications


Additional Eligibility Qualifications



  • Proven experience in estimating and managing large-scale construction projects, with a demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of data center and healthcare infrastructure requirements, including structured cabling, network infrastructure, security, voice and data, nurse call, PA and Sound systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Excel, Word and Procore, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, TIA).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents

Work Environment and Physical Demands: The majority of work is completed outside at the construction site and in an office trailer where the project is monitored, and daily decisions are made about construction activities. The position is often exposed to sounds and loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires the wearing of protective equipment when on the construction site (hardhats, safety glasses, and highly visible clothing). Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons. As part of our focus on being a Great Place to Work, we want to make sure we are clear on a few more basics we expect:



  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, sit, reach (with hands and arms), climb, balance stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, be able to use a telephone and operate a keyboard.
  • Be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
