Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to provide strategic sourcing, contracting and contract management support for assigned commodities, business units and corporate functions, in support of the credit unions general operations and enhancing member satisfaction. The position exists to develop sourcing plans and specifications, solicitation requests, tactical negotiation plans and assemble sourcing teams as needed, and draft, negotiate and manage contracts and/or license agreements in order to retain and utilize valuable provisions and prevent unnecessary liabilities from occurring. The role evaluates and monitor contracts and license agreements for effectiveness and supplier performance, manages corporate contracts as assigned and; service business unit's commodity, service and software need by providing guidance and consulting to them during all phases of the acquisition and contracting processes. Additionally, the role exercises judgment and problem-solving skills to assess alternatives and recommended solutions to meet the internal customer's targeted needs as well as imparts and shares knowledge and expertise with team members.

The Senior Procurement Specialist manages strategic souring activities, contract management, and other general work assignments. This role oversees the acquisition of a wide range of products and services, identifying preferred suppliers, leveraging spend, and obtaining best value for the organization. It develops and manages complex drafts and issues formal solicitations for request for proposals (RFPs), quotations (RFQ), and information (RFI), as well as prepares informal solicitation packages, evaluates responses and formulates negotiation strategies and leads negotiations. Additionally, it structures transactions for complex commodities and services and adding value to the process by assisting in reducing costs and building historical records of the acquisitions. This role makes decisions to determine when sourcing approaches are not appropriate, secures internal customer buy-in, and obtains consensus/sign-off from the key stakeholders when major decisions are made, or contracts are to be awarded. This position has a substantial impact on cost reductions and containment as they acquire a wide range of products and services, identifying preferred suppliers, leveraging spend, and obtaining best value for the organization. This role provides guidance to the Junior Procurement Specialist.

* Strong working knowledge of the stated functional areas of responsibility
* Strong and demonstrated negotiation skills and commensurate ability to develop tactical negotiation plans and deliver on them

* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required to effectively deal with suppliers, members, senior management, and other credit union personnel in both pleasant and contentious atmospheres
* Strong skills in sourcing and contract development, management and administration, as well as leadership, project management and process improvement
* Strong experiences with: sourcing complex commodities, services and software applications; negotiating complex deals and agreements; contract evaluation, drafting, and management; process management and analysis; project management and leading project teams; strategy development; and specification development

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
* Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
* Visually able to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
* Ability to sit for extended time periods
* Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment
* Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel
* Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects

This figure serves as the entry point in our salary range, and there is potential for the actual salary to be higher based on a variety of factors, such as your experience, skills, education, and location. We believe in recognizing and rewarding talent, so our compensation packages are thoughtfully designed to reflect the unique qualifications and contributions of each candidate.


The minimum salary for this position is:

$63,000
