Cyber Software Engineer, Senior Advisor

Peraton is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Cyber Intel team here in Laurel, MD, in this role you'll be working with a massively parallel enterprise platform, built with Java on Free and Open Source Software products including Kubernetes, Hadoop and Accumulo, to enable execution of data-intensive analytics on a managed infrastructure. Looking for a Software Engineer to augment the existing foundations team. A successful candidate for this position has experience doing Linux administration on large Hadoop and Accumulo based clusters using Centos 7 or RHEL. Minimally, the candidate should be skilled in Linux, Python/Bash, Configuration Management Software (Salt, Puppet or Ansible), and have some experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

This work supports a prime program that delivers a wide set of capabilities across the enterprise to include the following:

Data management and delivery capabilities such as dataflow management, streaming analytic frameworks, a user-driven rules-based data management system, and the development and maintenances of customer systems and tools
• High ingest rate cloud-based content and metadata architecture, analytic platforms, and enterprise-wide support of a suite of tools to improve developer and operator experience/productivity

To support an evolving infrastructure requires the use of methodologies that provide flexibility while reducing time-to-mission of new capabilities.

Position Requirements:

• An active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph is required
• At least Twenty (20) years of experience in software development/engineering, includingrequirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement,maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution
• A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required
• Five (5) years of additional software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
• Willingness to be a committer/contributor to open source applications
• Experience in Java programming for distributed systems, that includes networking and multi-threading

• Apache Accumulo
• Apache Zookeeper
• Apache NiFi
• Java Programming
• HAProxy
• Linux operating system monitoring and tuning
• Linux operating system level virtualization
• Committer/contributor to open source application
• Agile development experience
