This position reports to the Shift Supervisor

The Process Equipment Operator is responsible for the continual operation of the production machinery that produces Dical and Monocal at the Nutrien Marseilles Plant. This position is responsible for the routine maintenance and preventative maintenance of machinery and performs any other duties assigned by production supervisors and maintenance. This position is also cross trained with the Process Equipment Operator Helper position.

What you will do:



  • Responsible for the operation of all plant machinery. Must start, operate, and shut down equipment in a manner to maximize production without unnecessary wear or harm to equipment.
  • Responsible for the performance of equipment.
  • Responsible for minor preventative maintenance of equipment including the replacement of worn parts and proper lubrication.
  • Responsible for controlling raw material and product flow.
  • Responsible for maintaining an efficient truck loading process through use of the site TLC system to process customer shipments.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the quality standards for the product are met or exceeded.
  • Clean and remove dust and product build-up from machinery and plant working areas.
  • Responsible for collection of product samples, as necessary.
  • Responsible for monitoring of product and raw material inventories.
  • Monitor mechanical equipment by making visual and audio inspection of equipment and by monitoring temperature, flow, and amperage gauges.
  • Communicate machinery status to Production Shift Supervisor.
  • Secure equipment for maintenance by appropriate safety and plant procedures.
  • Identify and inform Management of ANY animal food quality or safety issue.
  • Operate the process to optimize the production of quality and safe product in accordance with standard operation procedures and following Current Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Perform production/quality checks as assigned.
  • Perform housekeeping/sanitation functions as required.
  • Detect potential problems with raw materials, processes, etc. that could affect animal food quality and safety and notify management of such issues.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence or further processing of nonconforming product relating to feed quality and safety until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • Maintaining the required written records including production, recycle, disposition of product, corrective actions, etc. as mandated by the Animal Food Quality and Safety Management System.
  • Responsible for following all facility safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Actively participates in site safety processes.
  • Actively participates in site requisitioning, work order and MOC systems.



What you will bring:



  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Process Equipment Operator, Preferred
  • Industry Experience, Preferred
  • Must have knowledge of OSHA regulations, Environmental regulations, along with the Animal Food and Quality and Safety Policy, Animal Food Safety Awareness and HACCP regulations.
