The Material Handler Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and overseeing the daily operations of the material handling and equipment operator staff for one particular assigned job site. The Material Supervisor serves as a subject matter expert in the core functions of material management and equipment operations.


Responsibilities

Responsible for:

  1. Supervising the daily operations for assigned job site(s).
  2. Serving as a subject matter expert regarding materials, tools, and rental equipment.
  3. Receiving, recording, and tracking inventory.
  4. Monitoring onsite distribution and delivery.
  5. Following up on requests from superintendents and foremen.
  6. Liaising with Assets Service Center to determine logistical information pertaining to time frame for delivery, size and scope of material request, and detailed parameters per each request.
  7. Determining the appropriate mode of transportation for inventory to be delivered
  8. Analyzing reporting metrics and budget information.
  9. Preparing detailed reports for project meetings.
  10. Presenting detailed information and reports at project meetings.
  11. Enforcing best practices for employee performance and policy adherence
  12. Monitoring and recording employee performance, providing inputs to performance evaluations, and submitting these for completion by the Logistics Manager.
  13. Assists secondary projects as applicable.
  14. Mentoring employees in performance and responsibilities to ensure they are prepared for new responsibilities as business demands increase.
  15. Thorough understanding and knowledge of projects Logistics plan including traffic delivery routes, site logistics schedules and stages of project both current and forthcoming.
  16. Understand and comprehend blue prints and project diagrams with regards to logistics strategies and planning
  17. Ability to create, plan and execute a logistics strategy plan.

Qualifications

Required:

4-5 years of demonstrated experience with a High School Diploma or 2-3 years with an Associate's Degree and proficiency with electrical design build materials and equipment, inventory management, Warehouse and Logistics Service Center processes and procedures at M.C. Dean, including but not limited to the following skills and

Abilities

  1. Must have demonstrated experience and proficiency with advanced level MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
  2. Must have the physical ability to perform material handling responsibilities utilizing appropriate hand tools and lifting items up to 75 pounds.
  3. Must have a strong command of the English language and be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Must have excellent reporting and tracking skills, along with a consistent record of accomplishment of accuracy, high productivity, professional level work ethic, and strict compliance with safety policies and procedures
  5. Must have demonstrated experience in managing a team and resolving workplace conflicts.
  6. Must demonstrate high level of interpersonal skills and ability to interface with different stakeholders.
  7. Must have / maintain a clean driving record and a valid driver's license. With abilities to obtain CMV upon request or project requirement.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.
  2. Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
  3. Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
  4. Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  5. Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  6. May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
