Overview
General Dynamics Electric Boat (GDEB) is seeking a Program Representative for the Hull Planning Yard (HPY) Engineering organization D495. Department 495 is a multi-disciplined department responsible for non-nuclear technical support to maintain and enhance the current submarine fleet, which consists of delivered ships in all classes (VIRGINIA, OHIO, and SEAWOLF). Technical products include Ship Alteration (SHIPALT) drawings, responses to Liaison Action Requests (LARs), and review of Manual Change Requests (MCRs). The Program Representative will assist the department manager and supervision by working with other program representatives managing an array of non-technical aspects of supporting the execution of the department's mission. Responsibilities in this position include but are not limited to:
Help design, develop and maintain reporting metrics for technical products as well as manning
- Support supervision and upper management in tracking commitments, training and other data of interest to upper management
- Interface with design and engineering personnel to track product workflow and enable process improvements
- Participate in tasking progress reviews and scheduling of product deliverables
Qualifications
Required:
- Associates degree in Business, Project Management, or related field
- 2-5 years' relevant experience in lieu of degree
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in business or similar field
- Knowledge of manpower planning tools, EVMS, Artemis, financial and contract processes
- Experience working in Power BI and/or SharePoint
- Proficient in use of MS Project
Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel including data scrubbing, data analysis, pivot tables, graphing, formulas, macros, and managing large amounts of data.
- Ability to compile, format, and analyze large amounts of data using various software applications
- Familiarity with the fundamentals of planning and project management
- Ability to work in a multi-discipline team environment
- Willingness to assist with issues using independent judgment, ingenuity, creativity and sound decision-making
- Organizational skills with keen attention to detail and quality
- Ability to manage multiple projects with rapidly changing priorities under minimum supervision
- Critical thinking skills and a proactive problem solving approach
- Good communication (Written and Oral) and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management as well as external stakeholders
- Motivated, ambitious, curious & open-minded self-starter who takes pride in their work and is willing to learn
