Overview

The Fleet/Safety coodinator works closley with safety manager, dispatch and Fleet manager to ensure vehicles and equipment are safe to use, being used safely and meet all OSHA and DOT regulations.



Responsibilities

    Researches new regulations and developments with OSHA and other appropriate health and safety governing bodies and recommends changes in the company's program
  • Develops documentation and implements the required or desired changes in the safety program
  • Schedules jobsite visits and safety audits
  • Ensures full compliance of safety plan
  • Controls hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee practices through site visits, safety plans, and education of all supervisory personnel
  • Reviews documentation to insure all required onsite records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures.
  • Reinforces safety awareness in a manner that promotes cooperation and improved morale
  • Assists in and all needs that may arise regarding insurance, including coordinating with insurance carrier's safety and risk analyst
  • Accompanies all safety, health and insurance inspectors on walk through inspections
  • Conducts work area inspections and assists in personal injury investigations
  • Provides job orientation to crew at jobsites
  • Enforce equipment implementation program
  • Ensure DMV has required paperwork
  • Work with accounts payable that taxes are paid on fleet
  • Ensure Fleet registrations is up to date
  • Conduct weekly safety toobox is issued to emplooess
  • Travel to job sites required to perform job function
