As an Advisor Sold Retirement Plans (ASRP) Product Management Summer Associate, you will be part of a team that manages Capital Group's retirement plan products for small businesses. The team is responsible for overseeing a suite of retirement plan products ranging from Employer IRA products to full-feature 401k solutions that aim to help employers offer a competitive retirement plan product that meets their needs while also helping their employees pursue positive retirement outcomes.

Primary responsibilities/essential functions:

The ideal candidate for summer intern on the ASRP product management team would be able to:

  • Develop a business case for launching a Managed Account capability in our PlanPremier retirement plan product.
  • Leverage market data and surveys to understand current usage and trends relating to managed accounts in the <$10M, $10-25M, and $25M+ plan size segments.
  • Engage with Capital Group associates in sales, service, and national accounts to collect perspective on how the lack of a managed account option is or is not hindering plan sales.
  • Evaluate competitors' managed accounts offerings to understand pricing and positioning techniques.
  • Oversee a survey of current Capital Group advisors to understand the attractiveness of a managed account feature.
  • Work with the RPS platform team to understand the current managed account capabilities of SS&C and Empower (our recordkeeping system vendors)
  • Summarize findings to help team determine if the opportunity presented by managed accounts exceeds the anticipated cost/effort.

  • Undergraduate level or higher, especially those studying Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Data Science, or related fields.
  • You have an anticipated Spring 2026 graduation date and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Ability to think critically and develop a recommendation based on a variety of inputs and decision-making factors.
  • An effective verbal and written communicator.
  • Comfortable with some level of independent research, with regular check-ins from supervisor.
  • A confident presenter who can effectively share information in front of a group.

Base Hourly Rate: $30.50/ hour

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
