STV is seeking three Construction Inspectors - Civil AOA for our PM/CM Group in NYC.

The Inspector will oversee airside asphalt and concrete placements for taxiways and runways. The inspectors will ensure compliance with FAA specifications, construction standards, and safety regulations, while monitoring contractor work quality and adherence to project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site inspections of airfield paving activities, including asphalt and concrete placement, grading, and compaction.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA specifications (Advisory Circulars), ASTM standards, and local regulations.
  • Monitor contractor work for quality, accuracy, and adherence to approved construction plans.
  • Inspect materials, mix designs, and field tests for concrete strength, asphalt compaction, and pavement smoothness.
  • Review and verify construction submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings.
  • Identify non-conforming work and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, airport operations, and contractors to resolve field issues.
  • Document construction progress through daily inspection reports, photographs, and punch lists.
  • Oversee testing and commissioning of newly constructed taxiways and runways.
  • Ensure compliance with airfield safety procedures in active operational areas.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in civil construction inspection, preferably in airport or transportation infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA airfield paving specifications, including P-401 (asphalt) and P-501 (concrete).
  • Experience with grading, drainage, and pavement construction for runways and taxiways.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, grading sheets, and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with FAA, DOT, and OSHA construction safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in inspection reporting software and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on FAA-funded airport projects.
  • Knowledge of airport construction phasing and operational safety procedures.
  • Previous work on large-scale aviation or transportation projects.

Additional Information:

  • Work will require field inspections in active airfield environments, following all airport safety protocols.

Compensation Range:

$63,305.00 - $84,407.00
