Summary of Job Duties:The Digital Records Specialist reports to the executive director and is responsible for managing and leading the digital services lab and managing digital assets. They are part of the management team and participate in ongoing strategic planning, assessment, and reporting activities. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Master's Degree in Information and Library Science or related field ;
  • Two or more years of experience in an archive, library, or public history setting;

Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Experience in Workday.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Digital Services Lab equipment, training, and workflows;
  • Work with archivists to manage procedures and develop policies for maintaining born-digital and digitized assets;
  • Support digital scholarship initiatives and collection accessibility;
  • Partner with UA Little Rock IT Services for CAHC's hardware, software, and network needs;
  • Manage CAHC technology, including inventory, updates, and procurement;
  • Develop policies and procedures in collaboration with Center management and IT Services;
  • Provide insight and guidance on new and emerging technologies relevant to CAHC;
  • Train staff and students to digitize physical materials and preserve born-digital assets, and ensure proper file formats and metadata standards for digitization projects;
  • Monitor access to sensitive or restricted materials, ensuring compliance with privacy and security protocols;
  • Mentor graduate assistants as detailed in the CAHC GA syllabus;
  • Administer ArchivesSpace, CONTENTdm, Preservica, Google Drive, and other CAHC digital management systems;
  • Administer project management software, monday.com, and Slack;
  • Maintain CAHC website, digital projects (e.g., Digital Ocean, Bluehost, AWS, and Google Analytics), and web exhibits;
  • Participate in strategic planning;
  • Staff research desk, including an occasional Saturday;
  • Work with other archivists, library staff, and external stakeholders on projects and initiatives;
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to improve skills and stay current with archival best practices, tools, and technology;
  • Assist with grant writing;
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
