Job Summary Job Summary

Responsible for accounting and payroll administration. Ensures the plans and performance of the various functions within the organization meet or exceed management expectations. Provides leadership to institutionalize the processes of Continuous Improvement in accordance with organization goals and objectives.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Works within established organizational objectives. Accomplishes results through subordinate exempt and nonexempt staff. Performs typical responsibilities of management requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and coaching. Work reviewed for adequacy in meeting cost, schedule and quality objectives.
  • Directs monthly and annual closing cycle within the accounting systems, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations, and report preparation.
  • Oversees the ongoing upkeep of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
  • Reviews, or directs review of, personnel records to determine appropriate processing of pay rates / salaries of newly hired Stakeholders and changes in pay rates / salaries of Stakeholders; records, or directs recording of, new or changed pay rates / salaries in payroll register or computer files. Directs computation of pay according to company policy.
  • Directs compilation and preparation of payroll data such as insurance payments, etc. Reviews and approves payroll deductions.
  • Interprets company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures. Directs preparation of government reports.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. Issues written and oral instructions. Assigns duties and examines work for accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures.

Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.
Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements

Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree. Business Administration, Accounting or equivalent.

If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.

  • Competent in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Detail oriented with logical thought processes.

Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.

While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Manages from five (5) to twenty (20) salaried professional and office/technical Stakeholders.
