About the College/Unit/Department |
In 2018, The
UGA Tifton Campus began a yearlong Centennial celebration with various events to commemorate its 100th anniversary of providing updated research to the community.
Research is done on a wide range of commodities, including cotton, peanuts, vegetables and turf grass, all of which make agriculture the No. 1 industry in Georgia.
In 2004, a teaching program was initiated and it has been growing ever since. College-level instruction on campus is aimed at undergraduate and graduate-degree level study. |

Position Summary |
The employee in this position will assist researchers with planning, preparing and conducting experiments in cooperation with The Land Institute. Specific duties include preparing the seed for planting field research trials; collecting samples, data collection, harvesting; conduct lab research; conduct greenhouse research; supervise student workers and perform other duties as assigned.
This position is grant funded. Continued employment beyond the grant expiration date will be dependent upon the receipt of additional grant funds, satisfactory job performance and the project needs. |

- Locate and contact potential collaborators, and provide planting and harvesting advice
- Prepare seed for planting field research trials. Lay out and sow or transplant field nurseries and trials.
- Keep adequately detailed and organized seed inventory, plant and plot identities, pedigrees, field and greenhouse maps, seed stocks, trait data and any other necessary information.
