Job Description About Your Role: Dotdash Meredith is looking for a highly skilled and forward-thinking Engineering Lead with demonstrated technical excellence for an exciting opportunity to design and scale mission-critical pieces of the next generation of our publishing. You will work in a collaborative Agile environment to build high performance UX solutions to develop, expand, and maintain the Content Management System for our new brand-focused mobile application. Dotdash Meredith is looking for a People App Lead focused on front-end development with a demonstrated track record of mentorship, innovative thinking, and technical excellence. You will work in a collaborative Agile environment to support and expand the People App CMS application. In-office Expectations: This position offers remote work flexibility; however, if you reside within a commutable distance to one of our offices in New York, Des Moines, Birmingham, Los Angeles, Chicago, or Seattle, the expectation is to work from the office three times per month. The teams are located across the country, with leadership centered in NYC and Chicago, so experience leading distributed teams across multiple time zones is highly desirable. About Your Contributions: Define and drive the technical vision for our front-end applications, aligning with our overall app development strategy. Work closely with backend engineers to ensure optimal integration between frontend UI and backend APIs. Monitor app performance using analytics tools and continuously optimize performance based on user feedback and usage data to improve the overall user experience. Work closely with product managers, designers, content creators, and other teams to integrate product vision and feedback, enhance app features, and drive user engagement. About You: Proven experience (4+ years) in designing, developing, and maintaining production ready frontend applications. Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js. Strong technical background with expertise in backend technologies, especially in Web Application Development: Design and develop user-friendly web applications using Vue.js and other modern front-end frameworks. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using TypeScript/JavaScript. React Native and similar (e.g., Flutter): Build high-performance, cross-platform mobile applications with a JavaScript/TypeScript core and native platform-specific UI components, including predictable state management patterns using Redux or similar alternatives. Native App development: Familiarity with building and managing both Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android) true-native applications; the ideal candidate will have experience migrating from an existing codebase, and can help guide the conversation about when and if to do so. State Management: Implement state management solutions (e.g., Vuex, Pinia) for managing data in complex web and React Native applications. Integrate with backend services to fetch and manipulate data. Testing & Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QA teams to identify and address bugs and performance issues. Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integration of APIs into front-end applications. Demonstrated ability to drive technical strategy and deliver high-quality products under tight deadlines. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira). Familiarity with content creation tools such as image uploaders, video players, social media APIs, and other related technologies. The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
