Summary

This position will support the Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC), primarily in Dahlgren, VA. SCSTC's overall mission is to provide the United States Navy and our allies with highly trained warfighters to maintain, operate, and tactically employ surface combat systems across the spectrum of operations. We are looking to hire Software Engineers to support the development and integration of Navy electronic training systems and electronic combat systems.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The Mid Software Engineer requires gaining technical understanding of the Aegis baselines, the ability to work closely with the Subject Matter Experts, System Engineers, and the rest of the Dahlgren team to identify and prioritize software development tasks, and the ability to translate real-world needs into technical specifications.

Experience Required:

  • Four (4) software engineering experience
  • Working knowledge of high-order programming languages and Web-based programming
  • Experience in debugging software
  • Experience in verification testing of software
  • Technical writing skills: capable of creating required engineering documentation
  • Working knowledge of C, C++, Python, Java, and JavaScript
  • Working knowledge of VS Code, JIRA, and GitLab
  • Working knowledge of Linux Environments (Ubuntu/RedHat)
  • Working knowledge of agile software development practices

Eligibility Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Scientific field preferred
