CNC Setup Technician

What You Will Do:

• Facilitate setups across the 13 different CNC machines and help perform 200 setups per month.

• Manage setup performance utilizing our machine monitoring technology Amper

• Manage and organize all the tooling associated with CNCs in the NC Lathe Value Stream

• Assist operators with machine troubleshooting to improve productivity performance

• Hold joint responsibility over managing a high-volume high mix machine shop that produces over 400 SKU's

• Organize and maintain the 5S condition of the setup area.

• Respond promptly to setup and program changes.

• Foster a positive, team-based attitude and collaborate effectively with others.

• Identify and communicate set-up reduction and continuous improvement opportunities to supervision.

• Back up production team leads as needed

• Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Good computer skills

• Ability to read & understand drawings and technical documents commensurate with machine operation

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Ability to multi-task

• Commitment to work overtime as needed

• Maintain appropriate levels of daily attendance, initiative and productivity

• Basic math skills

• Ability to use various inspection tools and gauges

• Proven reliability and attendance record

• Track record of continuous improvement participation

• Understanding of PDCA process, including ability to solve work related problems

Physical Demands:

• Physical abilities include being able to lift 30 pounds, and ability to stand or walk most of the day

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

• The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

• The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
