Applications Engineer (On Site)

The Mechanical (Applications) Engineer is a technical liaison between the customer and NHBB and as such must be knowledgeable, responsive, professional and able to communicate effectively with global customers on complex applications both verbally and in writing. Additionally, the right candidate will be able to interface internally with both Sales (Inside and Field) and Manufacturing to determine fit for NHBB. Additional duties include:



  • Review of customer drawings and translate into equivalent NHBB part number.
  • Coordinate bearing quotation between Inside Sales, Applications, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Pricing.
  • Generate and review NHBB Sales drawings.
  • Provide technical support to NHBB Field Sales Engineers and customers.
  • Evaluate failed bearings and create Bearing Evaluation Reports.
  • Maintain final review and approval authority as engineering representative.
  • Design prototype bearing for aerospace, military and commercial applications.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, quality control, sales, quality assurance, and manufacture regarding new bearing design proposals
  • Evaluate and suggest new materials for bearing components.
  • Establish testing criteria for specific bearing applications.
  • Establish new manufacturing processes and techniques for prototype bearings.
  • Provide input to Company's technical approach to trade shows and other promotional activities.
  • Develop and present technical seminars/presentations to internal & external customers.
  • Identify promotional strategies and provide technical input in the development of fact sheets, catalogs, manuals, technical bulletins and other promotional activities.
  • Classifying all export technical data.
  • Assist Inside Sales Representative in classifying NHBB products.
  • Ensuring all export control technical data is recorded.



SKILLS REQUIRED:



  • Proficiency with Computer Aided Design (CA) software, SolidWorks preferred.
  • Must have very strong computer skills, with emphasis on MS Office, Excel, CAD applications, and PC network environment.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes for the metal working industry necessary.
  • Must have very strong computer skills and attention to detail.
  • Desire to service internal and external customers is paramount.
  • Ability to handle diverse assignments from technical analysis, economic justification, & data entry.
  • Must consistently assisting the manufacturing department reach the department goals.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

B.S. Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, a minimum of industry related experience preferred.

Pay Range: $74,979 - $110,000 Annual Exempt Salary

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift 40 lbs

Note: Physical job requirements may include standing, use of hands to assemble and or carry out job functions as well as sitting, lifting, carrying, bending and stooping during the course of the job.
