Job Summary

We are seeking warm, engaging individuals to teach and support play-based classes for children 2.5 years and younger. Our programs include playgroups, separation classes (full year, drop-off programs), and support for new and expecting parents. Whether leading a class or assisting in a team, this role is perfect for individuals looking for meaningful, part-time work in a nurturing environment.



Job Responsibilities Include

    Plan and lead fun, developmentally appropriate activities for young children.
  • Foster social-emotional growth, helping children build confidence, curiosity, and connections.
  • Ensure the classroom is a safe, organized, and welcoming environment.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to set up, clean up, and plan engaging sessions.
  • Communicate with parents and caregivers, providing updates on their child's experience.
  • Share photos and newsletters through the Brightwheel app.
  • Attend weekly meetings with staff to plan and brainstorm creative programming.
  • Build relationships with families-welcoming parents, grandparents, and caregivers into a supportive community.
  • Represent the 92NY Parenting Center with warmth and enthusiasm.


Experience, Education, & Skills Desired

  • Bachelor's degree; preferably in social science degree.
  • Background or knowledge in early childhood education or a related field is a plus.
    • Social worker, camp counselors, OT and PT experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Enjoys working with babies, toddlers, and their caregivers.
  • Brings energy, warmth, and a collaborative spirit to a team.
  • Experience leading or assisting in early childhood classrooms (or similar settings).
  • Proactive self-starter who can work independently and in a group.
  • Values community and loves connecting with parents and early-childhood age babies and toddlers.


Work Environment & Requirements

Weekly hours range depending on programming.

Compensation Range

$45 - $65/hour

The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
