Overview
The Senior Product Engineering Technician is responsible for day-to-day proactive and reactive production-related equipment and process support. This person will also routinely engage with the broader manufacturing core team and be assigned project-level deliverables needed to support operations-level objectives.
Responsibilities
- Engage in equipment, process, and design troubleshooting to identify root cause of issues
- Perform activities necessary to minimize production downtime
- Support manufacturing's performance in meeting quality, productivity, and delivery objectives
- Communicate events and project updates effectively to core team members in written and verbal formats
- Troubleshoot new and existing products/process problems as related to design, material, or processes
- Work with engineering to design test systems for product characterization, design validation, process validation, and production processes
- Assist or own development of testing and validation protocols/reports
- Support test function for system hardware, software and test data manipulation projects
- Possess a working knowledge of equipment and process control mechanisms
- Ensure process and procedures adhere to internal and external requirements
- Participate in Design transfer to Manufacturing
- Support continuous improvement activities related to component qualifications
- Contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience Required:
- 2-Year degree in a technical field or 7+ years working in proven technical, production-facing roles
- At least 5 years of experience of engineering or technical production support experience
- At least 2 years working in a technical role within a regulated environment
- Strong understanding of production and process controls
Preferred:
- Background working directly with the maintenance, control, and development of new production and test equipment used in a regulated environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Highly organized thought and execution process
- Electrical, mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
- Desire to work within a manufacturing environment, directly with manufacturing teams
- Demonstrated experience effectively working with a diverse group of employees
- Basic understanding of lean principles and processes
- General knowledge around understanding how to prioritize projects and initiatives based on quality, cost, and delivery
- Curious and questioning mindset geared towards continuous improvement
- Draw from diverse experiences applying engineering knowledge to different situations
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively within the organization and collaborate with internal and external clients to determine requirements and eliminate any barriers that may affect the quality and delivery of product
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort working in an environment where priorities are fluid
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment
Below is the starting salary range for this position, although offers may differ based on the candidate's location, job-specific knowledge, skills and experience.
$25.77 - $36.04 / HR
