What You Will Do: Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Environmental Field Technician to join our Environmental Team in Tampa, FL on an hourly and temporary basis. Joining the environmental team at Gannett Fleming TranSystems means contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable water management and infrastructure. What you'll be challenged to do: This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated environmental professional with demonstrated expertise in environmental groundwater and soil sample collection, remediation system operation and maintenance, as well as coordination with contractors, state and local agencies, and laboratories. You will be responsible for: Communicating with a project team, directing subcontractors in the field, and understanding written plans / procedures. Composing short field reports documenting site conditions and site activities in accordance with FDEP and EPA requirements. Understanding and implementing a Health and Safety Plan. Education \| Experience: What you will bring to our firm: 0-2 years of experience as an environmental field specialist or scientist. Associate's Degree in required in Environmental Science or a related field. Experience with FDEP groundwater and soil sampling SOPs, and field documentation procedures required. Experience with field analytical equipment and the collection/preservation of soil and groundwater samples. Strong record-keeping and documentation skills. Excellent communication skills. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, travel overnight, reliability commute to field sites within Florida, and work outdoors in inclement weather and at construction sites. Valid driver's license required. OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification required. What we prefer you bring: Bachelor's Degree preferred. Experience working at environmentally impacted sites. Compensation: The range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00 per hour. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
