JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

Assists with the day-to-day operations of the Check Card and ATM Departments providing customer service to branches and customers by phone, working disputes filed by customers for erroneous charges on their Check Card or ATM card and balancing general ledger and settlement accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides customer service via email and phone for disputed transactions and erroneous charges to customer accounts.
  • Researches and processes disputes filed by cardholders.
  • Contacts customers and merchants to resolve complex dispute issues.
  • Extracts data from Electronic ATM journals to aid in the research of ATM transactions.
  • Monitors cardholder transactions via the current fraud system to prevent fraud.
  • Develops an in-depth understanding of Regulation E, Visa Regulations, or any subsequent regulations to process daily work.
  • Balances daily, and/or monthly general ledger and settlement accounts and ATM Network.
  • May be responsible for ATM machine maintenance and installs.
  • May be responsible for ATM network monitoring.
  • Completes monthly/quarterly reports for management.
  • Performs other duties as requested by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job does not have supervisory duties.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents required to perform essential job functions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and exposure to the banking industry and banking concepts
  • Demonstrated communication and customer service skills with the ability to see issues through to resolution
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office with Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook skills

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate a keyboard if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
