enior Systems Engineer
Part Time / Casual
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to support the SCSTC International Programs (IP) Office and providing tactical data link (TDL) curriculum development and training support for our International Partners.
- The position may be located in Dahlgren or at/near a Fleet Concentration Area (FCA).
Job Description:
- Provide systems engineering, technical, and tactical SME support on behalf of SCSTC for tactical data links.
- Develop and deliver curriculum to support tactical data link training for foreign Navies, to include, but not limited to Japan, Norway, Australia, and South Korea.
- Develop, deliver, and maintain course curricula for Basic Track Data Coordinator (TDC) and Interface Control Officer (ICO) courses for international partners.
- Travel to OCONUS destinations to deliver training in classrooms and/or on board foreign ships.
- Provide tactical data link technical and training support to the Japanese Navy during Fleet Synthetic Training (FST) exercises.
Qualifications:
- Must be a qualified Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) with Fleet/Strike Group experience.
- Must have in depth knowledge and experience with the following tactical data links: Link 11, Link 16, Link 22, JREAP, and CEC.
- Must have 8 years' experience with Link 16 network design and optimization.
- Must have 8 years' experience with mission planning, execution, and support.
- Must have 3 years' experience as a Navy Instructor.
- Must have 3 years' experience with curriculum development.
Desired Qualifications:
- Qualified Tactical Action Officer on AEGIS platform(s), preferred.
- Qualified Air Defense Officer (ADO) on AEGIS platform(s), preferred.
- Master Training Specialist (MTS), preferred.
Security Requirements
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Travel Requirements
- Travel up to 50%, including international travel
- If a position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as passport or REAL ID. Physical Requirements
- May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks, or moving from one worksite to another.
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range: $52.88 - $60.10 per hour
