Maintenance Lead

Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Lead to be based out of the Hobart facility. Directly reporting to the shift Maintenance Supervisor, this person will be responsible for effectively leading the maintenance team, assisting with establishing priorities, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance. Responsibility to include the plant's machinery, auxiliary equipment, participating in the plant's 5S program, and safety objectives according to the company's safety, quality, housekeeping, and production standards.

What you'll do:

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Evaluating systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed and their priority.
  • Assisting team members with technical issues or advanced problems per the given assignments.
  • Preparing for production shift, ensuring proper changeover needs are being met.
  • Working with the Maintenance and Production Supervisors to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete tasks.
  • Developing and executing Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), and Critical Parts List (CPL) programs on all assets located within the plant.
  • Tracking and logging all maintenance work, checklists, actual task durations, materials, and other resources used for maintenance purposes.
  • Responding to emergency situations including the safety of plant facility and equipment using knowledge of the plant, machinery, and best practices.
  • Operating mobile equipment such as fork trucks and manlifts.
  • Ensuring that all operating procedures, maintenance, repairs, and safety guidelines, are being properly followed by personnel.
  • Identifying enhancement opportunities and suggest solutions for improvement to Supervision.
  • Conducting in a manner consistent with Atkore's mission statement, core values, and other standards of conduct.


What you'll bring:



  • High School diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in maintenance.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Basic understanding of power and control systems.


Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Have gained certification in operating fork trucks and other mobile equipment.
  • Learned basic tube mill process knowledge.
  • Will be effectively leading assigned maintenance crew.
