ChampionX is seeking a Health Safety & Environmental Specialist I- Field Services to support the Production & Automation Technologies segment in the Permian Region located in Carlsbad TX and will provide coverage in the western parts of the Permian region. What You Will Do:
- Actively promote the safety process and report any safety issues through the proper channels for action.
- Drive and contribute to the Region's Continuous Improvement culture.
- Perform work in select areas of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with the organization's HSE standards and with federal and state regulatory requirements.
- Personally, observe safety and security procedures and proper use of equipment and material in field-based locations.
- Understand the components of the HSE Management Systems; maintain accurate data in accordance with applicable record retention requirements.
- Participate in filed based HSE related audit programs.
- Ensure case management practices are communicated, implemented, and followed for work related injuries and reasonable accommodations are made to mitigate aggravation of non-work-related injuries.
- Participate in the investigation of incidents and injuries and cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations; prepare studies and analyses of industrial incident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
- Participates in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures necessary to ensure the overall safety and health of employees and the community.
- Monitor and prevent chemical, physical, and biological hazards and diseases that could be present in the work area.
- Investigate accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards or uncomfortable conditions in the workplace.
- Recommend improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment, to minimize the hazardous potential.
- Assist in developing/delivering employee training, emergency preparedness and quality assurance programs.
- Provide safety performance measures.
- Conduct root cause analysis.
- Compile and analyze HSE statistics and incident reports.
- Other duties as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of all matters.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- 3 years' experience in Safety, Health and Environment
- Must be able to work independently with minimal work direction.
- Must have ability to travel to various ChampionX facilities and field locations in Permian Basin
- Ability to work flexible hours intermittently
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years' experience in Safety, Health or Environmental practices in Oilfield
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, TCEQ and DOT regulations
