Almac Group is currently seeking an HSE Coordinator for our Durham, NC location. The HSE Coordinator will:
Establish and maintain professional associations with site & business unit specific management groups to support the implementation of HSE initiatives.
Develop and support strategies to promote HSE awareness throughout North American operations.
Support routine and non-routine tasks relating to site specific compliance requirements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work with the site specific business units to establish a strategy for implementation of HSE initiatives.


  1. Collaborate with senior management to complete the respective Consensus and Commitment form to acknowledge associated requirements and assigned Key Stakeholders
  2. Collaborate with the assigned Key Stakeholder to develop specific requirements based on process operations and intentions of the HSE initiative.
  3. Support development implementation of training requirements. When applicable provide training to the applicable personnel.
  4. Provide guidance on completion and management of associated documentation.
  5. Communicate procedural or operational circumstances which hinder implementation to HSE and applicable senior site management.



Work with site specific business units to manage continuous awareness and improvement through completion of HSE risk assessments.

  1. Immediate completion of Safety Incident Assessment Reports following reported injuries, illnesses and near misses.



  1. Timely completion of risk assessments for new equipment and processes as communicated by the affected business unit.
  2. Monthly completion of site specific Facility Risk Assessments.
  3. Support product exposure inquiries and potential occupational exposure and environmental sampling as needed.
  4. Ongoing completion of site specific regulatory inspections.
  5. Ongoing review of completed equipment and process HSE risk assessments based on communicated changes and/or established periodic intervals.



Actively promote a safe and healthful work environment for all Almac employees, visitors and contractors.



  1. Serve as a liaison for Almac personnel, associated management groups and HSE group management to effectively address observations and related concerns.

  2. Participate in developing and supporting HSE awareness through monthly employee based committee meetings./



Support tasks that are specific to group HSE requirements.


  1. Develop and maintain knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, DEP and DOT standards as related to Almac operations
  2. Accumulate and prepare RCRA regulated wastes for transport and treatment.
  3. Maintenance and inventory management of site specific HSE supplies.
  4. Maintenance and calibration of HSE equipment.
  5. Timely response to customer inquiries and assistance with site HSE audits.
  6. Maintain site & business specific regulatory documentation.



Qualifications:
Required Experience / Education:
HS Degree / GED
2+ years practical HSE experience with HS Degree / GED
Internship experience with Bachelor of Science Degree
29 cfr 1910
Preferred Experience / Education:
Bachelor of Science Degree - Related Curriculum
5+ years HSE experience with HS Degree / GED
2+ years HSE experience with Bachelor of Science Degree
Pharmaceutical / GMP background
29 CFR 1910, 40 CFR, 21 CFR
