Staff Portfolio Manager
San Diego, CA

We are seeking an experienced leader with expertise in portfolio management to join our Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) team within the Program Management Office at PlayStation. The Staff Portfolio Manager is responsible for developing and managing processes and procedures to effectively lead the portfolio management capability. This includes prioritizing and executing the portfolio, as well as monitoring and reporting on its overall health and status. This position has a reliance on a matrix of executives and function leaders to advance the strategic portfolio goals and objectives according to commitments, schedules and measurable outcomes. Given the inter-departmental dependencies and shared resources in delivering projects, the position serves within a complex accountability structure. The ideal candidate is a highly responsible, self-directed individual who can work effectively in a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities:



  • Portfolio Management

    • Develop and maintain Portfolio Management standards, processes, tools, and templates.
    • Communicate portfolio information to a wide variety of audiences, including different job levels and functional areas.
    • Maintain the portfolio program and resource capacity models.
    • Understand key alignments and interdependencies across programs within portfolio, partnering with Platform Business leaders to address cross-initiative issues.
    • Act as steward for change management within top priority initiatives, as defined by portfolio governance.
    • Continuously improve portfolio management processes based on feedback from key stakeholders.




  • Portfolio Analytics and Reporting

    • Build and maintain the processes for data collection to drive portfolio reporting capabilities and data-driven decisions.
    • Provide analysis on the portfolio and create reports for senior management.
    • Ensure reporting aligns with portfolio management best practices and tracks the overall health of the in-flight program portfolio.
    • Develop and evolve the portfolio resource planning and tracking models as needed.




  • Intake and Prioritization

    • Develop a program intake and prioritization process, including prioritization criteria models and support for reviewing new requests throughout the year.
    • Facilitate the project intake and prioritization process, ensuring alignment with annual business planning and strategic priorities.
    • Continuously update intake criteria to understand the impact of program additions or changes on resources, capacity, sequencing, and delivery.
    • Understand interdependencies across programs and initiatives.




  • Governance

    • Develop and facilitate portfolio governance processes, including operational frameworks and cadences to drive standardization and promote active governance of the portfolio.




Qualifications:



  • 12+ years' direct or related work experience leading complex program portfolios in gaming, technology, consumer electronics, or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in portfolio management, including tools and methodologies
  • Highly organized, dedicated, team player that takes initiative and can influence outcomes autonomously in a matrix organization
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of successfully communicating with all levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in a global company and team preferred.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

In addition, this role

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.
$173,000 $259,400 USD
