The Role:

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for discovering, developing, and pursuing new business opportunities and relationships within Florida's East Coast sector/construction industry.



Responsibilities

    Work collaboratively with regional and national Business Development Team to identify, maintain and pursue clients and projects
  • Coordinate pursuit activities with regional operational management
  • Follow up on qualified opportunities through the development of strategic relationships with architects, engineers, property brokers, developers, owners, and financing institutions
  • Conduct and gather research to identify potential business opportunities
  • Track all pursuit and relationship management information through Suffolk's centralized system, CRM. Update information on a regular basis to keep CRM current and accurate
  • Execute initiatives identified and ensure detailed account plans are developed, maintained, and enhanced
  • Support the company's response to requests for proposals and bid opportunities once qualified opportunities have been identified
  • Support preparation of document package with the Marketing Team and project team for the interview phase
  • Prepare effective presentations that embody the Suffolk brand
  • Represent Suffolk at relevant industry events and speaking engagements
  • Implementing the Suffolk BD processes, systems, tools and reports


Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance Marketing or relevant discipline.
  • Desired 5 years in the A,E,C industry
  • Extensive knowledge of construction markets and business sectors is essential.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills - both verbal and written, with ability to produce highly professional proposals and presentations

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand, and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.
