The Opportunity:

We are looking for a full-time Manager role to support Mattel's Banking functions that reside with the Global Shared Services Team for our North and South America entities.

This position will be responsible for working with internal stakeholders, our BPO and external banking partners to ensure timely and accurate record keeping of all bank account transactions.

Our mission is to deliver a world class service while continuously optimizing operational efficiencies and global standardization.This position will report to the Sr. Manager in Global Shared Services and will be based in our East Aurora Office.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Regional Lead in the MGSS Banking Team for the North America & LATAM Regions reporting to the Global Tower Lead
  • Key decision maker for the team leading a team of 3 to 4 employees

- Leading an offshore team of 3 people within the BPO Location in Noida India

- Managing an onshore team of 1 in the East Aurora location

  • Ensure SLA terms are met/adhered to
  • Primary Contact & Relationship Management between MGSS and BPO
  • Relationship Management between MGSS and Mattel Business Units (BU's)
  • Customer facing (internal/external) role working as part of a global MGSS team
  • Participation and leading MGSS projects including NGF to transform our existing system
  • Assist, guide and train BU's, MGSS teams & BPO with the resolution of any process, transactional, and technical issues.
  • Liaison with other work streams such as Accounts Payable to ensure timely and accurate recording of payments, rejections and returns
  • Assist MGSS Banking Colleagues in the two other MGSS Regions in times of absence / increased workload
  • Ensure on-going emphasis on client service and satisfaction
  • Ensure that any escalated issues or inquiries are followed up, investigated and resolved in a timely manner, escalating to MGSS Tower Lead when appropriate, and managing through to resolution. Ensure that additional actions are taken to avoid similar occurrences to happen in the future.
  • Plan and review together with the MGSS Tower Lead/MGSS Regional Lead any structured support and training that may be required by the Business Units; i.e. Oracle training, new processes, MGSS onboarding.
  • Performing both internal and external Business Controls; Month End closing Sox Controls as an example

Order to Cash

  • Regional Lead for Order to Cash activities related to Bank Reconciliation
  • Leading monthly Business Unit meetings with Finance Leadership with relation to the MGSS Banking Activities to discuss and any related issues or concerns raised.
  • Participate and provide input into Monthly Governance meeting held with Senior Mattel Leadership
  • Management of daily transactional volumes to ensure items are processed and actioned timely by staff.
  • Lead the Banking Team in supporting Order to Cash activities when required (adhoc) to provide support to the BPO, MGSS, Mattel Business Units in relation to the following processes:
  • Regular contact with BPO Regional Team and internal stakeholders to resolve issues relating to Order to Cash
  • Resolve unreconciled items by follow up, investigation, escalation etc.
  • Reconciling Bank Balances to General Ledgers at Month end, validating that month end accounted cash position are reflected accurately with full explanation on any reconciling differences
  • Oversight / Review and Approval of Regional Closing Activities e.g. Reconciling Bank Balances to General Ledgers at Month end, Intercompany Loan Interest Calculations
  • Manage timely resolution on all inquiries received, following up with the bank on payment queries and resolution
  • Providing regular update to the MGSS Tower Leads on both daily operational, monthly closing and project deliverables, backlogs etc.
  • Manage any required system Testing; leading any required system testing for the Regional Banking area, Provide any required support to the Global Banking Tower Lead as required


What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of equivalent work experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or equivalent years of work experience
  • Sound understanding of and mid to high computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, etc.
  • Experience in working with Oracle; in particular the Oracle Cash Module is preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal & interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with people at all levels
  • Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to research independently to drill down and find account discrepancies, identify problems, suggest viable solutions and make decisions within scope of responsibility
  • Ability to recognize opportunities to streamline and standardize global processes, confident to recommend innovative solutions
  • Must be well organized, flexible and able to shift priorities to meet deadlines, able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

The annual base salary range for this position is between $92,000 and $115,000

**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
