Primary Purpose of Organization Unit
Psychology and Philosophy and Religion are departments within the College of Arts and Sciences. The faculty in both departments teach courses and engage in scholarship relevant to their expertise.

Provide administrative support for two academic departments, Psychology and Philosophy/Religion
Job Description
Office Management: Maintain a consistent department presence during standard work hours. Operate computer hardware and software associated with office duties. Work with campus resources to provide support for faculty for classroom and office technology. Maintain and keep updated both department websites. Enter course schedules for two departments. Prepare service contracts, additional employment agreements, student assignment agreements, etc. Coordinate student travel as needed. Prepare budget updates for state and gift accounts, etc. Coordinate with other offices on campus to achieve goals. Processing of travel requests/reimbursements. Answering of telephones and any departmental email inquiries for two departments. Copying of all department documents, syllabi, and forms. Coordinate all paperwork for new employees (to include I-9 verification).
Keep physical and electronic records and filing systems for two departments following regulations. Monitoring departmental balances and budgets on a weekly basis. Transferring of funds as needed. Reporting of budget issues as they arise. Manage the PCard for both departments.
Creating and processing requisitions on UNC Banner system and on the Bravecart ordering system. Monitoring of supplies, equipment, and service contracts needed by departments and faculty.
Monitoring online book adoption orders for adjunct faculty members as well as full time faculty members.
Create and maintain files of job candidate materials, records of receipt of such materials and maintain archives of such materials as needed by the departments and required by regulations.
Mail/Package Distribution: picking up mail/packages daily. Distributing mail/packages to department members.
Customer Service: Welcome visitors, students, staff and faculty and community members to the departments. Maintain knowledge about campus locations, services, and procedures.
Events: Accept proposed schedules from department members, make classroom/meeting room reservations and changes through Registrar's Office.
Attend training and develop skills in response to campus-driven changing demands for administrative support. Duties as assigned specific to an administrative assistant role.
Management Preference
Experience in Banner 9 systems
Experience with Chrome River
Lic or Certification required by statute or regulation
